The Journey to Someplace Special

No, I don’t dream of opening an all-glass underwater restaurant. That image you saw on my homepage is of the 5.8 Undersea Restaurant, which is undoubtedly incredible. It truly was someone’s dream brought to life. I’m here to discover and eventually bring my dream to fruition.

My full name is Zachary Justice Slomovic. I’m 19 years old, and for years I’ve dreamed of opening my own restaurant. I’ve spent over two years working in the restaurant industry, but now it’s time for me to take real action towards accelerating my learning process.

Right now, I’m reading How to Thrive in the Restaurant Business by Roy Slicker, and I’ll be sharing some of the most interesting takeaways as I go. This blog will also serve as a place to track my evolving vision: (branding, atmosphere, menu concepts, and more). Lastly, I’ll be publishing interviews with restaurant owners. I’ve already started reaching out and will continue to seek out conversations with people who’ve done what I hope to do.
